Table that I just finished today.

Not sure if this is art, but thought it turned out pretty well! Originally wanted 2x10's but they didn't have any, so went with 2x6.

Not at all. This was my first attempt!

Definitely learned a few things and would do a few things differently if I do any more, but a great and fun experience.

Everything in that shot is nicer than everything in my home. I particularly like the look of the legs.

Yeah, I wanted to go with wider planks but they didn't have any available so I just went with what was around (I should have waited, I think it would have turned out slightly better, although I'm not disappointed).

Dude that looks badass, what did you make it of? 1" or 1 1/2" black iron looks like? I'm curious how you did the mounting as well I assume just a plate with 4 holes or something for bolts but then that wouldn't support the middle plank.

I might have to copy it though one day cause I think it's awesome! Good one!

Thanks for the praise Ghost, it's actually pretty easy.

I just picked up the plumbing pieces from Home depot, you could use whatever size you want, although I like the size I chose (1"). I'm also using cedar for the wood. I think if I made it again I'd do two pieces instead of four, but we were impatient and didn't want to wait. I might also spend a bit more and go somewhere that would have better quality cuts (would reduce sanding time etc...)

To fasten the table I have pocket screws and also have metal plates underneath the table. For attaching the table and the legs, I have four flanges (same as the ones touching the floor) with four screws in them.

    Thanks!

I used a Varathane wood sealer. Not sure if there is something better out there. Might have been about ten coats =p

As I mentioned, I think it would look better with one or two pieces instead of four.
