Shh don't tell anyone lol
By the way will HF support this game? I know the original GW wasn't supported but I think we should have a guild here.

Woo, also this was posted yesterday in a terrible forum location.
Done.

trailgaze (10:19): and std's, I would only ever be a top
I was surprised I didnt see one, i glanced at all the forums and didnt see it. So it must of been bumped off the main page in the 3 hours between the 2 posts. and like you said, its a terrible location, no one checks it because no one ever posts there even if stuff like this is exactly why that forum exists.
i put it in forsaken gaming portals, don't ask me why.
I actually wanted to lead HF into this game with anyone else who wanted to tag along with me for the awesome experience that its going to be but I believe I was shut down and no one took me serious. But if Ne0 wanted to I'm sure he would be allowed to represent the HF name in Guild Wars 2. Ne0 if you are interested I am interested, I have no issues helping to manage the HF community into this game.
I was reading that they apparently had over 1,000,000 people sign up for beta and here I was hoping nobody would sign up.

neo has no motivation to lead anything and would be to busy to even play more than a 10-15 hours week. I see no reason why they'd shut you down (now not take you serious, i can see). If you want to i would suggest emailing laminad telling him you want to and your plans for it. Not to volunteer stylin, but he seems pretty interested in it and would probably have some ideas too.
I was hoping for the same, Al.
Neo, although I plan on playing, I have some pretty competitive goals. I don't really think that would jive well with HF, so at this point I'm not even sure I'll be playing with this guild. I still believe this is a game made for small guilds or guilds willing to break up into smaller groups. That isn't HF imo.
I'll use one example. Say a solid group of eight people play together all the time. They go into GvG one night, winning 8 out of 10 games. They just drastically moved up the ladder and are now facing MUCH tougher opponents. They goto bed, and the next day the first eight people that log on decide they want to GvG. This is a throw together group of people who don't often get to play together. They are obviously less prepared, and end up losing games, and losing bad. After three straight losses, some fighting, and some blaming, they log off pissed off and upset because they were forced to play people they shouldn't have been playing, due to the nature of the game and the ladder itself.
This isn't fair for either group. Group one now has to fight back the points they gained and lost in less then 24 hours. Group two really shouldn't have played, but that in itself isn't fair. They should be able to play whenever they want. I think this stuff is always going to be an issue for GWs.

You do realize that there is soooooooo much more to GW2 than guild vs guild?
I honestly dont think having a set team for GvG is going to be a problem because the World v World is most likely going to be where a majority of playtime is spent. Not to mention there is a whole PvE aspect to the game that was nonexistant in the first game.
And then there is always this: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...o-GvG-PvP-quot

i assumed you'd be playing (guilded) GW2 with the same people you played GW1 with, but you have that knowledge/experience in GW that might help him with planning goals and possible problems like the one you outlined that pretty much everyone else in HF might not know of because we didnt play very long and most of the players arent here anymore anyway. It was a "Stylin knows what he is talking about" not a "hey, make stylin be your co-leader" type thing.
Yeah well, I don't expect this game to release till Christmas, so we can speculate all we want. Like I said, I have competitive goals. In guildwars 1 my guild took 3rd in america in the first tourney. 1st and 2nd place got a trip to Taipei Taiwan to play for $10,000. Thats the sort of personal goals I'm looking at for GW2. There is going to be some form of small group competitive PvP, and that is what I'm going for. I did the whole zerg keeps thing in DAoC, and yes it may be fun, but it typically comes down to whoever has the most players wins and I want a whole lot more strategy then that.
From reading Al's link, it seems as if you can form set groups within the guild, so maybe what I posted has no bearing whatsoever. Good for the devs, they are learning. I think thats part of what will make this game great. Also to be honest I haven't been following this game much at all. Things change so much from alpha to beta to release, I tend to only focus on what will actually be.
EDIT:
If you have an hour or three, check out this amazing post for basically anything you want to know about the game.

Sorry Sir!
The president of ArenaNet said that the next beta will be in late March and that it will be for helping the dev team "load test the servers." When invites will go out is anyones guess but it seems like if they are in the stress test part of beta then the game may be closer to release then we may think.
I'm backing this game quite a bit. One of my most anticipated (ME3 and then this). I'm down with Sty on the competitive thing as well. That's just me though... I hope the mechanics have changed enough to support different groups within the guild.
From what I've heard about the game, it's completely different and better than the first. This is from people playing it. The only thing negative they had to say was the frame rate dropping which is expected in beta, duhh.
Only the dead have seen the end of war
"Tournaments are the more organized side of structured PvP. Tournament play is 5v5, but matches take place on the same maps that are used for hot join play.
Pickup Tournaments: These single-elimination tournaments wait for 8 teams to join before starting. Once they start, they go through 3 rounds of eliminations, with winners receiving qualifier points.
Monthly Tournaments: For monthly tournaments, you'll need a certain amount of qualifier points to join.
Yearly Tournaments: These grand tournaments feature the winners from the monthly tournaments slugging it out for the right to call themselves the best PvP players of the year.
Player-Run Tournaments: These tournaments will be customized by players, allowing for great flexibility and unique bragging rights."
Although there is no GvG, there are still structured and competitive forms of PvP. I think ArenaNet wanted to make this game a more traditional type of MMO where guilds are more of a social group rather than having guilds be a source of epeen measurement.

Source?

If you read the various forum sites that have compiled information about Guild Wars 2, you will find that the information is cut and pasted form the official game site and various interviews from gaming conventions. In fact, you already linked to the compilation on mmo champion.

I asked so I could read the whole thing, not just the cut and paste. Thank you for the info.
Well I'm under NDA now so off to do secret squirrel stuff.
