    D3 beta wave

A new wave went out with this latest patch and it seems like a lot of people got in, including myself.

So if you haven't given up on it yet maybe go check your battle net account!

I really think they're doing a stress test here as well. It's kinda unbearable to log in at the moment....so don't be hurt.

Yeah, the servers have really been unstable for the past few days. Lots of error codes and lockups.

And really, I don't know if my expectations were just so high because of my Diablo nostalgia, but the game really isn't anything special lol. That might be because it's only the first act and I think everyone and their dog has watched the gameplay on youtube, but it seems really really easy. I'm hoping because of the beta graphics and whatnot are really dumbed down, because the game looks the same as Titan Quest.

One of the dev's came out and said that the first act is supposed to be stupid easy. They're really overcatering to the mindless masses imo.

Hm, hopefully Inferno turns out to be somewhat of a challenge. Cause so far it's the same ol Diablo where you stand at a boss with no stategy needed and just kill it, loot and leave.

I didn't get in but a guy I work with did, he hooked me up with his account so hoping to play tonight

I played through the beta tonight as a Barbarian.

The Barbarian I was kind of leaning on as an alternative to the Witch Doctor once released but he was a lot of fun to play. For those who would know better, safe to assume the game will be made harder once released? It seemed pretty simple, but then again I didn't pay attention to see if there was a difficulty option.

they've really dumbed it down a lot trying to attract more casual players (they've said somethign alogn the lines of making it so anyones mother can play), Leoric is a bit more of a challenge on your first char if you get there around 7-8 and soloing, but still not really hard

Yeah but thats what Normal is supposed to be, easy.
Keep in mind on top of that we're basically looking only at d3's equivent of the bloodraven quest from diablo 2. On top of that A. they are still tweaking things, they made it a lot less win mode by reducing stats on crafted gear and the number of blue drops early B. there are a lot of monster attributes we haven't seen yet, that won't come in until later acts like reistance, artillery, extra strong, etc.

yeah crafted gear was pretty damn imba and made drops useless. though i think part of that was just that the level of items which dropped stopped around 9-10 and was random, while you could choose what item you wanted (esp for weapons) and could get lv13 req

while it sounds somewhat hollow coming from someone who has played the beta, you're missing practically nothing. it's an hour of content (or 5, but you're just doing the same shit a different way) that got boring for me over a single weekend. If anything playing beta, seeing some of the changes, and reading about some (since i havent been playing) makes me like the game even less.

Sadly I'd have to agree lol. It just wasn't anything special, but I'm keeping my hopes up since it is only beta. It felt really really boring though. I hope they release pvp in beta that'd be more fun.

well originally they made it sound like beta was only supposed to be to test network/server stuff, but since then they've re-done demon hunter skills, changed a few other skills, completely completely the stats, took out a crafter, re-did another crafter, and have gotten something like 700+ unique bug reports from beta testers (which is to be expected even if you have a huge in house testing department), doesnt sound like a game that just needed some network testing
