Spiritclaws Trivia Challenge Round 1 (continued)

First up, the rules. The rules are subject to change at any time, but if they do, you will be notified within the thread about it.

Several times each day I will post a group of trivia questions.

    1) Each question will be worth a varying ammount of points.

    2) Questions will presented in the following format

    Quote:
1: Question 1 here (point value)

    3) The first person to correctly answer the question will be awarded the points assigned to it.

    4) To make things a little more fair for everybody involved, each individual may choose to answer as many questions as they like, up to 12 points. Once a person has 12 points of questions answered, they must wait one half hour before posting answers to more questions (unless I post updating scores & questions. Then you're free to post.).

    5) If somebody else answers a question correctly first, you may choose another question to answer.

    6) Each round will consist of 50 - 100 questions. Once all those have been answered, the next round can start.

    7) Whoever has the highest point tally at the end of the contest, wins the title of Trivia Master (or Uber Geek whichever you prefer :P lol)

I think that #7 (the one about the Austrian composer-conductor who wrote Romantic symphonies involving large numbers of singers and instrumentalists) is too vague. I mean, a few people have tried to answer it, and technically their answers (with the exception of maybe one of them) could have been correct. Are we talking about composers of the Romantic era only, or are also including any composers who touched on Romanticism before and since the Romantic era?

I think this one and #10 (about the horses) should either be revised to be less vague (or to at least point us in the direction of what you're looking for) or changed to different questions.

However, it's your trivia thing. 'Tis merely a suggestion.

For #7 when I type Austrian composer conductor in Google search, the name I am looking for is on the first page of results.

For #10, I'll look through to see who answered it. In the google search I just did I see some of the names that were given as answers. However the answers in my source were Eclipse, Herod, and Matchem.

Wrong. Besides, Hitchcock died in 1980. If he directed and starred in movies for 10 years after he died, I want what he had.

Mozart was classical and didn't use any Romantic styles, so that better not be the answer.

Yeah, I did the same search he said he did yesterday, and that's the only reason I even tried Stoltz.

    #7 - Nope. #68 - Nope again.

The answer for #7 is in one of the first 5 results of the google search. Children, Earth, Journeyman...

actually i learned about it on the history channel because it was about him and how hilter used him as an example of pure german music, arts, etc. His daughter, daughter-in-law or something was also a very hardcore nazi and helped hitler do it. Hitler also attened the yearly musical festival for Wagner.

I should totally get like 2 points. >_>

That and Ride of the Valkries is probably the only opera song that most people have heard. :D

    1) I'm guessing you're referring to Kant's views of the noumena and phenomena or something of the likes? I'm not sure if that is considered psychology, but I believe in modern terms it is referred to as the "identity theory". I don't think that's how he originally framed it, but I could be wrong.

I'm looking for something different, else Crisis would have gotten it with his post. You're both on the right track with the nuclear disaster. Just think about what sort of thing would happen should something like that happen. What would it be called.
