I am prior military, US Army. I would be more than happy to help you with any questions you have. It is very important to be prepared going into the military if you know nothing about it!

I loved every minute of it and still miss it, but I would have done some things different had I had some guidance. All recruiters are like used car salesman, its crazy.

So please, shoot away with any questions you have.

I'm also from canada... i think the US should get ride of the nukes before telling every one else to!

I think Taco Bell should be more popular than McDonalds, the food is just better.

They don't have as much variety as McDonald's, though.

pfft Taco Bell is the worst...

You could always launch moldy tacos at enemies and they'd run for sure...

I'm currently active duty in the U.S. Navy. I'll shoot you an e-mail. Ask me anything you want. One very important piece of advise... DON'T TRUST RECRUITERS... THEY WILL LIE THERE ASS OFF TO GET YOU IN... THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN GET A BLOW JOB EVERYDAY IN BOOT CAMP, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU NEED TO HEAR!!!

    *edit*
Due to a very sincere phone call I've just received, I need to retract my statement about recruiters... they tell the truth...

    /me looks over his shoulder...

    ...not!!!

    /me runs away.

The pic or the phrase? I made the pic when someone pissed me off and said that I posted too many threads and talked too much on IRC. The phrase comes from Roddy Piper's character in the movie 'They Live'. Which, incidently, is where my avatar comes from, too.

McDonalds is on every military installation that I've been on. They've got a monopoly with Uncle Sam or something. One of the busiest McDonalds is at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. They have every register open with 20 people per register in line... ALL THE TIME! When you get done eating, you might as well hop back into line... because by the time you get to the front, you'll be hungry again...

You can also ask me. Anything you want to know, my dad was active duty military for 24 years. The company I work for does alot with the military and I also fly as a resivest.

Oh and Greyedg McDonalds must only be on Navy bases. I have been to almost every post in the US and Europe and none of them had McDonalds its Burger King. AAFEES has a contract with Burger King and a few other companys. And AAFEES runs Army and Air Force.

  24. #24
Yep, Burger King in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

  25. #25
    They have Cinnabon as well

How long have you be at Fort Gordon?

    My Folks live in Evans.

DelTaco pwns tacobell..

  27. #27
    you've gotta be shitting me.

Hazaa has the worst tastes in food. Excuse me but
    1) Mcdonalds is horrible
    2) Harveys is worse
    3) Taco Bell is Horrendous.

The pic, best movie ever. The phrase is good too...I heard that somewhere before, but not in a movie.

Harvey's is the best! Ok so there fries are garbage, but the burgers and onion rings are kick ass! McDonalds is trasih, I've only had Taco Bell twice, but it was good, and Burger King is crap between two buns.

All of our larger Canadian bases have McDonalds....yuck. I wouldn't reccomend joining the military unless they agree to pay for some form of education first or the work you will be doing with them has transferable skills for a good job on the outside. No matter how many questions you ask nobody knows if they're ready for something like this and if you are you still don't know how long you'll last so make sure there is always a Plan B (ex. the education or skills you would learn).

EDIT: Thought you might enjoy this...its similiar to the CDN Coyotes: http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/1009/p02s02-usmi.html

I'm not rude, you're just insignificant.
